APRIL MEETING (AGM)

Meeting Commences 6.00pm.
No charge to attend meeting.

To help demonstarte David has invited David Waddel from Stoddard's to bring along some steel framing and the required tools for a hands on Demonstration. 
  2. TILLING TIMBER - Debbie Payne from Tilling Timber will inform us about Tillings Smartframe products, product applications, site issues and also present a LIVE demonstration of Tillings new V12 Software Programme and tell us how it can assist Building Designers. Debbie will be joined by Carol Claffey who is Tillings NEW Software Trainer for Qld.

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the April meeting. All executive positions are open and nominations are being called for. In particular the positions of Branch Delegate and Secretary will need to be filled as both Eddie Baden and Bev Jorgensen are not available to continue in these rolls. Nominations can be forwarded to Paul Hindes.

Notice of Annual General Meeting

"Sham Contracting" Review May Unfairly Target Small Business

The current inquiry into ‘sham contracting’ by the Australian Building and Construction
Commissioner may unfairly impact on genuine small businesses in the housing industry,
according to the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

“Proposals to the ABCC inquiry that would force subcontractors to become employees
would devastate the housing industry and destroy thousands of independent small
businesses,” said Glenn Simpson, HIA’s Senior Executive Director Legal Affairs and
Corporate Services.
