FUTURE POPULATION GROWTH IN QUEENSLAND SEMINAR

Presenters: Ross Barker
Where: Stamford Plaza Brisbane Cost:
Ballroom 1 Afternoon tea provided
Cnr Edward and Margaret Streets
Brisbane
$88.00 (incl GST)
Queensland’s population grew by nearly 520,000 people over the past five years, averaging growth of nearly 104,000 each year. This was the largest amount of growth in any state or territory and accounted for more than one-quarter of Australia’s total population increase.
What are the prospects for population growth of this magnitude in Queensland in the future? How much growth is likely to occur over the coming decade? Which regions will experience strong growth and how will future population growth differ from past growth? Will South East Queensland and the Brisbane region continue to be the location of 71 per cent and 43 per cent respectively of Queensland’s growth (equal to share of growth in past five years)?
This seminar will answer these and other questions about projected population growth in Queensland and its regions. Recently released Queensland Government population projections detail the amount, location and timing of expected growth. This growth will have implications for government and businesses including health, education, housing, transport, commercial and retail. Expert speakers at this seminar will unpack these results and reveal the key findings with a focus on South East Queensland.
You are welcome to forward this invitation to others who you think may be interested in attending.
